This is up to a 12 day hike along the coast south of Lisbon. It can be done any time of year except probably from Mid June until the end of August when it is too hot. It's a slog in some places as there is a lot of sand but it is a well organised route with a local village at the end of a maximum of 20kms per day. Restaurants in the villages at night and are dotted throughout the hike most days. Some days are shorter than others and the rest of the day can be combined with an afternoon on the beach. If you have had enough there is public transport in each overnight village linking you to Lisbon which is a great start weekend or finish to the hike. This is a great hike to do for those that have never done a long hike before. There is also a service that takes your bags to each overnight location so you can just carry a light day pack during the day. Not much shade during the hike so enough water is a must as there are not many refill opportunities during the day.
